Judith Ann Boroughs, beloved mother, of Columbus, Indiana passed away November 14th at 9:47 AM. She spent her last days where she wanted to be, at home with family by her side.

She was born November 10, 1942 in Brown County Indiana. Judy was a loving and devoted mother who worked very hard to make sure her children never went without. She also taught them the value of taking care of family over all else. Her nieces have called her the Mary Tyler Moore of the family as Judy was an independent, strong woman who had a job and her own apartment when they were younger. She worked for many years for Smart & Johnson Abstract where she was a title and deed abstractor and was known and loved by many who worked in the governmental offices of downtown Columbus. She was also a long-standing member of the Columbus Moose Lodge 398 where she gladly gave what she could to help the many events geared towards raising money for the Moose’s charitable children’s fund Mooseheart. She was also a lover of nature and would spend many hours sitting and watching the birds play in front of her home in the bird feeders she set out for them. She was a light in the world and she will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Mae Smith, her father Ora Arto Smith, her sister Betty McMasters and her husband John, her brother Richard Smith and his wife Rosie, her ex-husband Eugene John Boroughs, her soul mate Barry L Arthur, and her son Timothy Boroughs.

She is survived by her sister Geneva Dinsmore and her husband Mickey, her sister Kathy Hollis and her husband Robert, her brother Ora Smith and his wife Nancy and a slew of nieces and nephews including Brenda Smith, Shelley Smith Law, Wayne Smith, Mike Smith, Danny Dinsmore, Brett Dinsmore. Doug McMasters, Pam Delaney, Bryon McMasters, Sandy Harper and Ora Smith Jr. She is also survived by her son Scott Boroughs and his wife Samantha, her daughter Susan Whitehead and her husband David and their daughter Chandra, her son Mark Boroughs and his wife Sabrina and their three daughters Katelyn, Charisma and Jacquelyn. She is also survived by her daughter Regina (Boroughs) Albanese and her husband Tony, and her son John Boroughs Jr.

Services are being held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers; please donate what you’re comfortable with to Hospice. They were angels in her time of need.”
